If equipment is proposed in US Dollars, may the lease be structured in US or Canadian funds to take advantage of expected changes in the exchange rate?
Newcourt has the flexibility to price in Canadian or US dollars depending on the customer. Newcourt has the necessary documentation to support both requests. If a customer decides to pay in US dollars then the customer does so for the entire term. If the customer decides to convert to Canadian dollars, Newcourt use the then current exchange rate factor and convert to Canadian funds (exchange rate may change at time of lease commencement). Newcourt then prices the transaction in Canadian funds for the entire lease term. NOTE: The customer cannot pay in US dollars and then mid way through change to Canadian dollars or vice versa. Newcourt needs to determine at the start of the lease commencement as to the currency of transaction.
