What is "Abrasion"?
Abrasion is the gradual wearing away of cutting edges and the tool's heel that, with heat, ultimately results in dulling of the tool. Rate of wear, and thus tool life, depend upon the following:
1. Workpiece Alloy
2. Metal Removal Rate (MRR)
3. Heat
