What are "Rough Cut", "Roughing Cuts" or "Roughers"?
Preliminary metal removal, usually at fairly high Metal Removal Rates, followed by "finishing cuts". May be accomplished with the same conventional end mill or with a "rougher" followed by a conventional cutter.
