What is a "Honed Edge"?
Many of the drill manufacturers hone the main cutting on the edge of a drill point to dull the edge and increase tool life. It sounds controversial but as you know, carbide is a sintered material and the cutting edge ground up sharp would be too fragile otherwise, causing premature chipping and thus the drill would bind in the hole.
