What is “Peel Grinding” ?
As the grinding technology becomes increasingly sophisticated, there becomes a demand for higher material removal rates, surface quality and improved accuracies. High speed “Peel Grinding” (HSP) with CBN grinding wheels, is characterized by high cutting speeds, high infeed rates and high feed speeds allows high material removal rates which are now several times greater than those achieved by conventional grinding technologies. However, development of HSP technology went hand in hand with the use of ultra hard grinding materials like CBN and diamond together with the possibility of using these grinding methods in particular industrial applications. HSP is a longitudinal grinding process in which the entire surplus stock is fed all at once. The workpiece is ground by a CBN and finished after a single longitudinal traverse. This is known as “High Speed Peel” grinding.
