What is "Permanent Media Filtration"?

Media is the permeable barrier placed in the flow of contaminated liquid to remove contaminants. The term permanent media refers to a media that can be cleaned with coolant, compressed air or by vibration so it can be reused, thus avoiding replacement or disposal costs. Permanent media normally is made from nylon, polypropylene or other synthetic fibers. Typically the life of permanent media can be expected to be from 2-5 years, depending on the system design and the type of application. Permanent media filters are todays best solution to the environmental problems of replaceable media disposal.
