What is "Steel"?
Basically pure iron in combination with carbon and other elements. There are two types of steel: carbon steel, or a combination of iron and carbon; and alloy stee, which is carbon steel plus manganese, molybdenum, chromium, nickel, or other alloy elements. A steel's quality depends on how it is refined and produced. See "Alloy"; "Alloy Stee".
