What are "T-Slots" or "T-Slotting"?
Milling operation performed in two steps designed to create a "T" shape in the workplace, normally upside down, such as slots in machine tool tables for work holddown. Normally a slot is milled with a conventional end mill, then a cutter shaped lke a "T" with a shank somewhat smaller in diameter than the slot is used to mill the side extensions of the "T". Dovetails similar variations are milled much the same way.
