What are the "ISO Quality Standards"?

lSO 9000 represents the series of international standards which indicate that a company has specific quality policies and is consistent with these in its work instructions and operating procedures. "SAY WHAT YOU DO AND DO WHAT YOU SAY"

ISO 9002 quality system is based on 19 elements and requires the development of a quality manual and documented procedures which define the organization and operation of the quality system. The international standards organization consists of 250 countries that together have developed the ISO standards.

The first set of standards were developed and issued in 1987, and subsequently upgraded in 1994. These standards are updated every 4 - 5 years. The quality assurance models, set out in the international standards represent three distinct forms of quality system requirements:

lSO 9001 & ISO 9002 quality systems are both models for quality assurance in production, installation and servicing. However, ISO 9001 also requires quality assurance in design and development.

ISO 9003 quality system is the model for quality assurance in final inspection and test.
